FIFA 23 Standard Edition vs. Ultimate Edition

As with previous versions, FIFA 23 will boast three different editions that fans can purchase: the Standard Edition, the Ultimate Edition, and the Legacy Edition.

The Legacy Edition is a call-back to previous versions, featuring updated rosters, but "without any new development or significant enhancements," EA Sports confirmed. This is mainly for the Nintendo Switch, which only comes in Legacy Edition. It will not come with the new HyperMotion 2 technological enhancements or any of the new gameplay modes. Essentially, this is FIFA 22 with a few minor upgrades.

Team of the Week 1 player item

With the first TOTW selected before the game is released, gamers will be given one player at random out of the 23 picked as an untradeable item for FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team).

Kylian Mbappe loan item

The regular card of Kylian Mbappe will be available to be used by gamers as a loan item in FUT for five matches.

FUT Ambassador loan player pick

EA Sports will select three players as FIFA 23 ambassadors - gamers will get to select one to use their regular card as a loan item in FUT for three matches.

Career Mode Homegrown Talent

This is the only benefit that doesn't apply to FUT. Gamers will receive one youth player with great potential when starting their career mode team.

FUT 'Ones to Watch' item

'Ones to Watch' FUT items are centered around players who have moved clubs during the recent transfer window. These special cards mirror any FUT upgrades players receive during the season. Gamers will receive one of these in their untradeable version at random.

4,600 FIFA Points

FIFA points can be used to buy packs of FUT cards and for modes such as FUT Draft.

FIFA World Cup FUT Hero (on pre-orders)

Special FIFA World Cup FUT hero cards will become available on November 11 - just before the World Cup. Gamers will receive one of these items in their untradeable version at random .

Three Days Early Access (on pre-orders)

FIFA 23 was playable at midnight, three days before official launch, for pre-orders.
