EXTRA TIME
Dax McCarty's year is off to a great start, though the timeline may be a little congested.
The New York Red Bulls midfielder was called into camp by U.S. national team boss Bruce Arena and made it clear that his return to the U.S. team, along with his impending nuptials, is making 2017 quite the special year already.
Honored to get the chance to represent the #USMNT again. A callup and a wedding? 2017 off to a good start! Appreciate all the well wishes

But McCarty wasn't done yet.
His wedding will actually make the midfielder tardy to camp, so he sent out a thanks to Arena for allowing him to come in after the other players, and then thanked his bride-to-be for letting him leave the day after their wedding.
Special thanks to Bruce for letting me come to camp late. Extremely special thanks to @JenZyski for letting me leave day after our wedding

With World Cup qualifying in full swing, bailing on your honeymoon may be a risk worth taking, but McCarty is still a very brave man.
Here's hoping it all works out for him.
