Since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2022, Erling Haaland has continued his development into a goalscoring titan of global football, breaking records and pushing for titles at every level of competition.
The Norwegian has been a monster, smashing the Premier League single-season goal scoring record in his first season in England while lifting a treble that year. He followed that up by leading the club in scoring again as City secured its record fourth consecutive domestic top-flight title.
Yet there's one gaping hole in Haaland's career record, which is largely unfinished at just 23 years old: he has been blanketed in cup finals.

Erling Haaland goals in finals for Man City, Dortmund
Erling Haaland has played in cup finals on six occasions for Manchester City across all competitions, and has not scored a single goal in any of them.
In fact, across all his nine cup finals in his professional club career, he has scored just three goals, all coming in his early Borussia Dortmund days. He has been blanked in seven straight finals since bagging a brace in the 2021 DFB-Pokal final with BVB.

Erling Haaland goals in semifinals for Man City, Dortmund
Incredibly, Haaland has never scored a semifinal goal in his entire professional career.
He has been blanked on three occasions with Manchester City, coming up empty in the 2023 FA Cup semifinal against Sheffield United, and also failing to score in either Champions League semifinal leg against Real Madrid en route to reaching and winning the title that year.
Earlier in his career, Haaland also did not score in a pair of substitute appearances for both RB Salzburg and Molde. He came on at halftime of the 2019 OFB-Cup semifinal with Salzburg already up 4-0 at the break, and a 16-year-old Haaland entered for Molde across the final half-hour of their eventual defeat back in the 2017 NB-Cup semifinals.

Erling Haaland career trophies won
Despite struggling in major cup finals, Haaland has still collected a litany of trophies across his glittering young career.
With Manchester City, he's taken his game to the next level, winning the Premier League title twice, including as part of a historic treble in 2022/23, adding the Champions League and FA Cup that season.
