England control their own fate at Euro 2024 as they prepare for their final Group C match against Slovenia in Cologne.

Gareth Southgate's side are already through to the knockout stages, having already secured four points from their first two games to mean they will qualify regardless of the result.

That gives them a two-point lead at the top of the group, but a win would also guarantee England first place in the pool and a potentially easier opponent in the Round of 16.

Slovenia, who are also unbeaten in the competition thus far but with two draws, would be tied on points with England if not for Luka Jovic's last-minute equalizer in their 1-1 draw with Serbia, so they will be no walk over if the Three Lions don't improve their performances. While major tournaments are not a sprint, but a marathon, England have certainly yet to hit their stride after struggling for fluency against both Serbia and Denmark.

England vs. Slovenia prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: England -300
  • Score prediction: England 3-1 Slovenia

England's tournament has so far not played out how many predicted, as they struggled against both Serbia and Denmark's robust defence. However, the history books suggest England can come out on top vs. Slovenia. They’ve won on Matchday Three at three of their last four European Championship tournaments, since losing 3-2 to Romania at Euro 2000 under Kevin Keegan.

England vs. Slovenia best bet

  • Pick: England to win and both teams to score
  • Odds: +250 (BetMGM)

Even though England have been defensively much more compact than many expected, Slovenia can still qualify via the third-place route and gaps appeared vs. Denmark in the latter stages of the Three Lions' second group game.

Slovenia will potentially need a goal to have a chance at qualification. Southgate's side, meanwhile, drew to Denmark and that has seen increased scrutiny from the English press — only a win would silence those critics.

England vs. Slovenia prop bet

  • Pick: Jude Bellingham to score anytime
  • Odds: +200 (BetMGM)

Considering he already has a goal to his name and has been England's best player at this tournament, these odds are tasty for a Jude Bellingham goal. While club stats are slightly irrelevant in tournament football, Bellingham had 19 goals in 28 LaLiga appearances for Real Madrid last season and has been playing similarly further up the pitch for his country.

  • Pick: England to score in both halves
  • Odds: +120 (FanDuel)

Based on the previous picks listed, England scoring three goals in one half would be quite something, so backing the Three Lions to score in both halves makes sense.
