After selecting a 28-player training squad, Sarina Wiegman made her final decisions.

She announced her England squad for the Women's Euros ahead of the tournament — making it clear who's made the cut and who's just missed out.

Former captain Steph Houghton is one who didn't made the grade following a lengthy injury rehab — despite the high-profile likes of Fara Williams urging her inclusion.

Meet the Lionesses who are hoping to win their first major international trophy...

England Women's goalkeepers

Ellie Roebuck

The 22-year-old missed much of 2021/22 domestic season due to a calf injury but is highly rated, and made her senior debut for England in 2021.

Mary Earps

The 29-year-old is England's senior keeper, with a wealth of Women's Super League experience. She signed for Manchester United in 2019 when they were promoted to the top flight.

Hannah Hampton

The 21-year-old made the cross-city switch from Birmingham City to Aston Villa in July 2021. She made her senior England debut earlier in 2022 during the Arnold Clark Cup, keeping a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with Spain.

England Women's defenders

Millie Bright

The Chelsea defender is a stalwart of Emma Hayes's backline, and has helped the Blues to six Women's Super League titles. She is the team's vice-captain.

Lucy Bronze

Possibly the most famous face in the England squad, Bronze was the UEFA Player of the Year in 2018/19, and the winner of the Silver Ball at the 2019 Women's World Cup. The full-back also won a trio of Champions League titles with Lyon.

Jess Carter

The defender has been playing at the top domestic level since she was 16 and made her debut with her first club Birmingham City. Now part of Chelsea's dominant side, the 24-year-old made her England debut in November 2017 - but had to wait almost four more years for her second call-up, when Sarina Wiegman brought her into her inaugural squad.

Alex Greenwood

The defender returned to England to sign for Manchester City in 2020 after a spell with Lyon. A former England youth captain, Greenwood was the youngest member of England's bronze-medal-winning squad in 2015.

Rachel Daly

It's impossible to know exactly how the Houston Dash star fits into this squad because she has slotted in to pretty much every outfield position there is. Her versatility makes her a massive asset.

Demi Stokes

The 30-year-old Manchester City full back just missed out on the 2015 Women's World Cup squad but has been around the senior England set-up since the start of 2014.

Lotte Wubben-Moy

The 23-year-old defender returned to Arsenal in 2020 following three years away at college in the USA. Since then she's established herself as a first choice for her club, and made her senior international debut in 2021.

England Women's midfielders

Georgia Stanway

The attacking midfielder left Manchester City at the end of the season to sign for Bayern Munich. The 23-year-old had been with City since 2015, and scored 57 goals in 165 appearances.

Keira Walsh

The 25-year-old made her 200th appearance for Manchester City this season. She has won every domestic trophy with her club - who she has supported since childhood.

Jill Scott

One of the squad's other senior pros, the 35-year-old had been struggling to get first-team minutes with her side Manchester City - so has spent time on loan at Everton and Aston Villa over the past 18 months to ensure she was match-ready for first the Olympics and then the Euros. She made her 150th appearance for England in February 2021.

Ella Toone

The childhood Manchester United fan signed for the Red Devils as a teenager in 2018 as they established their senior side. Now 22, she is an integral part of the England squad, scoring a hat-trick against Latvia in October 2021 during the World Cup qualification campaign.

Fran Kirby

The Chelsea attacker burst on to the global scene during the 2015 Women's World Cup, hailed as "Mini Messi" by then-coach Mark Sampson. Despite problems with illness and injury, she poses a threat to any defence.

Leah Williamson

Arsenal's Leah Williamson is the newly appointed England captain. She is a childhood Gunners fan and has been part of the senior international set-up since 2017, when she was 20.

England Women's strikers

Alessia Russo

The 23-year-old forward is one of the most exciting England players to watch. She has represented England in all age groups, and got her first senior international hat-trick in November 2021, against Latvia. More than that, she only needed 11 minutes to complete the feat - the quickest by any England player at any level ever.

Beth Mead

The Arsenal forward has enjoyed a great season, and broke the Women's Super League all-time assists record in April, going past Karen Carney's mark of 36. The 27-year-old also scored her 50th WSL goal during the last campaign - as well as a famous hat-trick for England at Wembley, against Northern Ireland.

Beth England

This will be the Chelsea striker's first major senior tournament, having picked up her first caps in late summer 2019, after the Women's World Cup that year. She helped the Blues to another Women's Super League and Women's FA Cup double in 2022.

Chloe Kelly

The 24-year-old striker has made a remarkable comeback from a nasty anterior cruciate ligament injury, returning to action in April this year and helping Manchester City to the FA Cup final.

Ellen White

One of the most well-known faces in the England camp, this will be the Manchester City striker's third Women's Euros (she has also played in three Women's World Cups). The 33-year-old is England's record goalscorer, currently on 50.

Lauren Hemp

The Manchester City forward is the newly-crowned PFA Young Player of the Year, as she was in 2018, 2019 and 2020. She scored City's first goal in the 2022 Women's FA Cup Final as they fell 3-2 to Chelsea in the Wembley showpiece.

Nikita Parris

The Arsenal striker has not been a first-choice starter for Jonas Eidevall's team this season but offers a great option as an impact substitution. She made her senior England debut almost exactly six years ago, and was part of the squad that made the semi-finals at the last Euros.
