Despite having raced to a three-goal lead in the first half of their Malaysia Super League round 14 match against Kuala Lumpur (KL), Melaka United allowed the hosts to come back in the match to level the score in the second.
Luckily, new signing Ifedayo Omosuyi shined in his debut, scoring the winner for the Mousedeers in the 76th minute, to secure himself a brace and the three points for his new club.
But speaking in the post-game interview with the match broadcaster, Melaka head coach Elavarasan Elangowan declined to dwell on his charges' near collapse in the match, saying that only the win mattered.

"Usually when a team scores a goal just before halftime, they would go all out in the first 10 minutes of the second half. We didn't manage that period well, and KL's second goal boosted their morale further.
"But the good thing was even though we lost our lead, the boys fought hard to find the winner, and that's good enough. What's important is the three points.
"KL got their first goal in the last five minutes of the first half, and they were already playing with four strikers in front. I told my men 'maybe we can take advantage of this', but in the end it didn't work out. However, the win is all that matters, congratulations to the players," remarked the former PKNS FC head coach.
Elavarasan has turned around the Mousedeers' form since he was appointed in May, guiding the club to two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five matches.
