Real Madrid have been hit with a fresh double injury blow as the issues continue to mount for Carlo Ancelotti’s reigning Spanish and European champions.
Madrid returned to winning ways against Real Betis last weekend as Kylian Mbappe opened his LaLiga account with both goals in a 2-0 win.
However, the victory was marred by Dani Ceballos suffering ankle ligament damage, compounding Ancelotti’s midfield problems after Jude Bellingham sustained a calf problem last month.
Bellingham’s complaint means he is absent from England duty, something of a relief for Ancelotti, who always fears the worst when it comes to international breaks.

"The international break is not a good thing," he said after the win over Betis. "We will lose players. I hope no injuries occur, I want the players to return fit."
Sure enough, a couple of days into the players’ international commitments, bad news has come from the France national team.
Aurelien Tchouameni has injured his left foot and exited the camp at Clairefontaine after being examined by France’s medical team, while left-back Mendy has suffered an impact injury to his right tibia.
Tchouameni’s injury is the bigger concern given Ancelotti is already stretched in midfield. Federico Valverde and veteran playmaker Luka Modric are his only remaining specialists.
Fran Garcia will be ready to deputise for Mendy if required when Madrid travel to Real Sociedad on their return to LaLiga action on September 14.
