Daniel and Adam latest injuries in Ong Kim Swee's squad image

When met by the press before conducting training on Monday, Malaysia head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee provided the latest update on his squad's crock list, ahead of their 2018 AFC U23 Championship campaign in China, next January.

On top of Pahang defender Matthew Davies who is currently undergoing recovery, according to Ong Kelantan midfielder Danial Ashraf Abdullah and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) defender Adam Nor Azlin have also picked up injuries in the past few days.

"Danial Ashraf has picked up a rather serious injury to his back, an injury that has been recurring for the past two years. Adam in the meantime has picked up a slight knock, he should recover in a few days' time.

"Everyone else is in good shape including Davies, who should be able to rejoin the rest of team for training," he remarked.

He also revealed that the team will play in a friendly match against Super League side Melaka United this Thursday, after which he would cut three players from the preliminary squad.

"The night after the match against Melaka, or on Friday morning at the latest, I will announce the 26 players I will take to South Korea (for the next stage of the training camp).

"I will then select the final 23 men for the squad competition in Korea," he remarked.
