Wilfried Zaha has scooped the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for April after his contributions in the month set Crystal Palace on their way to retaining their English Premier League status.

The winger was a menace to defences during the period under review, scoring four goals and laying one to a grateful teammate.

Zaha started the month on an impressive note, scoring a goal as his side were held to a 2-2 away at Bournemouth. The 25-year-old followed it up with a match-winning display in the M23 Derby against archrivals Brighton and Hove Albion, grabbing a brace.

Although he endured a frustrating afternoon at Vicarage Road where they were held to a goalless stalemate by Watford, the former Manchester United player was untouchable as his opener and assist for second - converted by James McArthur - set Roy Hodgson’s side up for a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Leicester City as the Eagles finished April on a high.

Palace wrapped up English top-flight stay in their first fixture in May; a 2-1 win over Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.  And the form of the Cote d’Ivoire international last month - and whenever he lined up for his side - was crucial in the Selhurst Park outfit avoiding the drop, after a terrible start to the season.

They are now placed 11th in the log after picking 41 points in 37 games.

Zaha has scored eight goals and laid a further three. And he will hope to end the season on a high when they entertain West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
