Crystal Palace's Roy Hodgson gives update on Wilfried Zaha’s injury image

Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson has revealed that Wilfried Zaha will return to football action soon.

The Cote d'Ivoire international suffered a knee injury in Palace’s 1-1 stalemate with Newcastle United.

And, although, it was previously feared that the winger will be out of action for the rest of the season, the English tactician has allayed such fear.

“We don't know how long he is out for, that is the bottom line and it's amazing he was able to play so long in the game with the injury," Hodgson said ahead of weekend's clash against Everton.

“The good news for us is that he is a very quick healer, he and the medical staff will work very hard to get him back on the field as soon as possible and we know he will definitely not play against Everton, that's for sure, and it might even take a week or two more than that.

“We have got an international break coming up and a break next week for the FA Cup so we are hoping it will not be as long as all that and we will have to take it on a match by match basis and get him back on the field as soon as we possibly can.

"I can certainly deny the rumours that he will be out for the rest of the season as he will be back before that."

Palace are in the 14th spot with 27 points from 26 games and will be looking to secure their seventh English Premier League victory this season, against Everton on Saturday.
