The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was absent from Al-Nassr's 1-1 draw against Al-Shorta of Iraq two weeks ago due to a viral illness. In Monday's match, Ronaldo had an earlier goal disallowed for offside, but with 14 minutes left, he found the top corner with a crucial shot, securing the win in Riyadh.
Sadio Mane, formerly of Liverpool, had given Al-Nassr the lead just before halftime with a well-placed header. Ronaldo's strike appeared to seal the victory, but Al-Rayyan managed to pull one back late in the game when Roger Guedes scored from close range.
Despite the late pressure, Al-Nassr held on for the win as they continue their quest for a first Asian title.
Despite being 39, Ronaldo shows no signs of slowing down. The goal against Al-Rayyan marked his seventh in eight games across all competitions, proving that age is just a number for CR7. As Al-Nassr chase glory in both domestic and continental competitions, their captain continues to lead by example.
Ronaldo will be back in action this Saturday against Al-Orobah in the Saudi Pro League. As contract extension talks start to gain steam, it seems Ronaldo is far from done dazzling in Saudi Arabia.
