The Columbus Crew have declined the 2017 contract option of goalkeeper Steve Clark, the club announced Wednesday as several teams provided roster updates ahead of the MLS offseason.
Clark, 30, has started 107 of 109 MLS matches played by the Crew since signing from Norwegian side Honefoss ahead of the 2014 campaign. Zack Steffen and Brad Stuver are the remaining goalkeepers on Columbus' roster.
The Crew also declined options for goalkeeper Matt Pacifici, defender Corey Ashe and midfielder Cedrick Mabwati, while defenders Chad Barson and Michael Parkhurst are out of contract.
Elsewhere in MLS, Orlando City announced it will not exercise the options for defenders Kevin Alston, Luke Boden, Seb Hines and Tyler Turner, midfielder Pedro Ribeiro, and forward Julio Baptista.
Sporting Kansas City, meanwhile, has declined options for goalkeeper Jon Kempin, defender Ever Alvarado, and midfielders Emmanuel Appiah, Connor Hallisey and Justin Mapp.
Kansas City goalkeeper Alec Kann, defenders Nuno Coelho, Kevin Ellis and Chance Myers, midfielder Paulo Nagamura, and forward Jacob Peterson are out of contract, though the club remains in negotiations with Ellis and Kann.
The Chicago Fire also made roster announcements Wednesday, declining options for goalkeeper Patrick McLain, defenders Eric Gehrig and Rodrigo Ramos, midfielders Razvan Cocis, Nick LaBrocca, Alex Morrell, Michael Stephens and Khaly Thiam, and forward Luis Solignac.
Supporters' Shield winner FC Dallas made it announcements Monday, as the club chose not to retain goalkeeper Ryan Herman, defenders Aubrey David and Norberto Paparatto, and midfielders Carlos Lizarazo, Getterson, Juan Esteban Ortiz and Mauro Rosales. Dallas defenders Zach Loyd and Atiba Harris and forward Carlos Ruiz are out of contract.
The club also announced Tuesday it had signed its second 15-year-old homegrown player of the offseason, with midfielder Bryan Reynolds joining forward Jesus Ferreira.
