Clint Dempsey busts out shades, wins fan adulation as TV analyst for CBSSN's USMNT coverage image

Clint Dempsey won the night before a ball was ever kicked. 

The former U.S. men's national team star made his first appearance as a USMNT analyst for CBS Sports' coverage of the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal in Denver. And he was doing it his way. He did his analysis in sunglasses at one point and he would later claim he needed the shades to see into the future and make predictions. 

And the fans ate it up: 

Oh, and you'll notice that unlike his broadcast colleagues Charlie Davies and Oguchi Onyewu, there was no tie on Deuce either:

But aside from his look, Dempsey wasn't your typical former athlete making his first extended national TV appearance. He was delivering real opinions:
