Chelsea forward Charly Musonda has the choice of a number of clubs during the January window, with Brendan Rodgers' Celtic among those pushing hard to secure his services on an 18-month loan deal.

Antonio Conte is keeping Musonda in his thoughts for an FA Cup game with Newcastle United on Sunday, with Alvaro Morata and Willian out injured, but will likely sanction a move for the 21-year old next week as the transfer deadline approaches.

Leganes, Real Betis and several Premier League and Championship clubs have shown an interest in the highly-rated winger, but Chelsea are keen to ensure that an academy graduate gets the maximum amount of game time wherever he ends up.

Celtic have been long-time admirers of Musonda, having tried and failed to sign him last summer, and are looking to step up their efforts to bring him on board.

The youngster has previously spent time on loan with Real Betis in La Liga, where he spent a year making 14 starts and 10 further substitute appearances.

Musonda has gone on to make his debut for Chelsea this season - taking in seven appearances across all competitions, getting one goal and one assist in the process.

He signed a new deal until 2022 in December and is regarded as an important talent for the future by those at Stamford Bridge.
