Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has backed American forward Julian Green for success at his new club, Stuttgart.
Green left Bayern Munich during this January transfer window, sighting more playing time with the second-tier Bundesliga squad. Green signed a contract with Stuttgart through 2019.

"The problem for Julian Green with us was that he didn't play a lot of games because he had some strong competition up front," Ancelotti said, via ESPN FC. "But I think from the very beginning right up until Christmas he improved a lot.
"Also, he didn't play a lot. He trained well. He played one game against Augsburg and scored a goal. He was in the national team. I think that in the last six months, he improved a lot."
Green was the youngest member of the 2014 U.S. World Cup squad, scoring a goal against Belgium in the Round of 16. Though he wasn't called on for over a year, Jurgen Klinsmann inserted Green back into the national team during the fall, and he shined.
Ancelotti recognized that Green is a talent. He just needs more playing time to develop and showcase his true skills.
"I hope that in Stuttgart he can play with more continuity and show his quality, the top quality of a central striker, " Ancelotti said of Green.
"He has the typical skill set of a center forward, he's very good without the ball and he is so good at finding space and moving behind the defensive line. And he has quality on the ball too."
It remains to be seen whether or not new U.S. national team manager, Bruce Arena, will recall Green.
