Antonio Candreva came close to leaving Inter to join Chelsea, his agent has revealed, and would not rule out a move at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old winger has been a key player for the Nerazzurri since joining from Lazio in August 2016 and was quickly linked with a move to the Premier League.
Candreva was again rumoured to be on the way out of San Siro in the January transfer window, as his agent said the Italy international would "love" to play in England.
And Federico Pastorello has admitted a switch to Stamford Bridge almost came to fruition in 2017.
"When he arrived at Inter he was very happy, and he still has this enthusiasm," he told Rai Sport.
"He was very close to going [to Chelsea] last winter, but he had just been bought by Inter, so it wasn't possible.
"We're waiting for the end of the season. If they finish in the top four, I think he’ll be happy to remain and finally play in the Champions League.”
Candreva, who is joint top of the Serie A assist chart with eight, is contracted to Inter until 2020.
