Ghana defender John Boye says Cameroon will be tough opponents in their semi-final clash at the Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday.

The Black Stars are set to face the Indomitable Lions in Franceville, following a 2-1 triumph over DR Congo in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Cameroon, four-time champions, emerged 5-4 victors over Senegal on penalties to make the last four on Saturday.

“We are done with DR Congo," Boye told Metro TV.

"Now, our focus is Cameroon in the semi-final.

"We know they are a tough side and we are also a tough side, so it is going to be a good game.

“We are very focused ahead of the game, we will go back and work hard so we can win and achieve our target.

"Everything is on course and we are well focused.

“I will score if the opportunity comes, I am just hoping to keep on having good games and we pray everything goes well for us.”

Ghana are in the semi-finals for the sixth consecutive time, with their last appearance at Equatorial Guinea 2015 ending in a final defeat to Cote d'Ivoire on penalties.

Boye is remembered for his 73rd minute equalizer against South Africa in the last group game two years ago, 10 minutes before Andre Ayew netted the winner to send Ghana through to the knockout stage.
