Emmanuel Boateng is currently catching the eye for Levante and Ghana, but it is his intention to be at Barcelona or Manchester United inside “the next five years”.
At just 22 years of age, the promising frontman is setting ambitious targets as he takes aim at “one of the great clubs of the world”.
He has put himself on the right path to make those dreams a reality, with his game having improved dramatically in 2017-18.
After joining Levante on a four-year deal last summer, Boateng had to be patient as he waited for regular opportunities to impress.
Once given those he finished the season in style, with a hat-trick against Barcelona which ended a record-breaking unbeaten run for the La Liga champions followed by a first senior goal for his country.
Boateng is now looking to kick on, telling Marca of his future plans: “I always dream big, I see myself playing in one of the great clubs of the world in the next five years.
“Big clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona excite me.”
A first effort for Ghana arrived in a recent friendly clash with Japan, with his international account opened on debut.
He said of that achievement: “I am very happy and excited about this feat, to score my first goal in my first game with the national team is very exciting.”
Boateng will not have a World Cup shop window in which to impress this summer, with Ghana having failed to qualify for Russia 2018, but he will be back for more with Levante in 2018-19 as he continues to chase down a dream move to either Camp Nou or Old Trafford.
