Olympique Lyonnais entered Wednesday's UEFA Champions League semifinal match against Bayern Munich hoping to advance to the final, of course. But the French side also was hoping to avoid getting embarrassed by the German club that has ripped through the tournament.

And while it didn't necessarily embarrass its semifinal opponent, Bayern handled Lyon with relative ease in a 3-0 win Wednesday. Bayern is through the Champions League final, where it will face Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

After winning all of its Champions League group stage games, Bayern obliterated Chelsea in the Round of 16 and then Barcelona in the quarterfinals to reach its 12th appearance in the semifinals. The win against Lyon gives the club 10 consecutive Champions League victories and puts it in a tie for the longest such streak with the 2013-14 Bayern squad and Real Madrid in 2014-15.

Below are some additional facts about Bayern's win:

  • Bayern will play in the final of the European Cup/Champions League for the 11th time (equaling AC Milan’s total), with only Real Madrid (16) having participated in more.
  • Lyon has been eliminated in both of its Champions League semifinal appearances, with both coming against Bayern. The club has failed to score a single goal in those three games.
  • Bayern has scored 42 goals in the Champions League this season. Only Barcelona in 1999-2000 has netted more (45) in a single campaign in the competition.
  • Bayern's Robert Lewandowski scored Wednesday to become only the second player in Champions League history to net 15 goals in a single campaign. Cristiano Ronaldo has done it three times (2013-14, 2015-16 and 2017-18).

Sporting News tracked scoring updates from Wednesday's Champions League semifinal in Lisbon, Portugal. Below are the highlights from Bayern vs. Lyon.
