Dreams FC chief executive officer Kurt E.S. Okraku has insisted that Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman has been the greatest player Asante Kotoko have ever transferred to Europe.
The 24-year-old joined the FA Cup champions on loan from Dreams in 2011 and soon attracted foreign interest following inspiring performances.
Baba joined German side Greuther Furth in 2012 and later signed for Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg, before landing a lucrative deal to Premier League giants Chelsea under Jose Mourinho in 2015.
“When I was sending Baba Rahman to Kotoko [in 2011], Wilberforce Nfum didn’t believe he would be a good player but he turned out to be the best talent ever produced by Kotoko,” Okraku told GhOne TV .
“Have you ever seen any Kotoko player at Chelsea before? The records have it. Kotoko have never seen a talent like him,” he added.
Baba was however loaned to Schalke in August 2016 after Antonio Conte replaced Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
The defender hasn't kicked a ball since January 2017 following an injury he sustained while playing for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
