Atletico Madrid attacker Bernard Mensah has revealed his admiration for France and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Rojiblancos in 2015, is currently out on loan at Turkish side Kasimpasa.

He has so far made 14 appearances in the Super Lig, finding the back of the net on three occasions.

“I like the way Zinedine Zidane played in his days. I still watch his videos as I also want to play like him. Pogba and Ozil are also special players to me also,” Mensah told Miliyet.

“I feel more comfortable playing as a number 10. It makes me to score and assists goals.

“Generally, my best motivation is that people are watching me so I have to put up a good performance in every game.

“The intensity of La Liga is very high but one similar thing it has with Super Lig is the results of games, the big teams can beat the small ones."

Mensah broke into prominence following his Atletico Madrid move from Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes.

He is, however, yet to make his competitive bow for Diego Simeone's side, having spent all his time out on loan.

Before joining Kasimpasa this season, he was loaned back to Guimaraes last campaign.

The Accra-born, who made his Ghana debut in 2015, also spent the 2015-16 term with Getafe.
