Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has defended their playing style, emphasizing the importance of winning.

The Old Lady, who are going neck for neck with Napoli for the league title, have been criticized for their result-oriented form of play, largely compared to The Light Blues’ free-flowing style.

As things stand, a point separates the two sides after matchday 22 in the battle for the Scudetto.

“In the end, what counts is winning,” Asamoah told Sky.

“If you play well but don’t win in the end, it counts for nothing. These criticisms don’t bother us, the important thing is for us to get results and to win in the end, that’s what counts.

“We know Napoli won’t give up, they’ve dropped very few points, but we’re here to win and you weigh things up at the end.

“The quality of your play is important, but the most important thing is to win, scoring as early as possible as we’ve often done this season, because that makes games easier to deal with.”

While Juve battle for the Serie A title, Asamoah continues to fight for a regular place in Massimiliano Allegri’s set-up.

The midfielder, who could leave at the end of the season, has made 10 league appearances thus far this season.
