Arsenal team news: Ozil misses out as Wenger sticks with three at the back image

Arsenal are without Mesut Ozil for their visit to West Brom on New Years Eve after the Germany star was ruled out of the match with a knee injury.

The 29-year-old is also doubtful for Wednesday's game against Chelsea which opens up the prospect of Danny Welbeck or Alex Iwobi coming into the team for the London derby clash at Emirates Stadium.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger deployed three defenders at the back in Thursday's win against Crystal Palace, and will stick with Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Calum Chambers in defence on Sunday.

Wenger will set a Premier League record in the match by taking charge of his 811th Premier League game, breaking Sir Alex Ferguson's record.

Arsenal XI: Cech, Chambers, Mustafi, Koscielny, Bellerin, Xhaka, Wilshere, Kolasinac, Iwobi, Alexis, Lacazette

Subs:  Ospina, Mertesacker, Maitland-Niles, Coquelin, Elneny, Walcott, Welbeck
