Arsenal new boys Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will get their first taste of the north London derby on Saturday after making Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up to face Tottenham.
The January additions were in fine form against Everton last time out, with their almost telepathic understanding on full display.
Aubameyang opened his goal account for the Gunners in that fixture, following a club-record £55 million move from Borussia Dortmund, while Mkhitaryan provided three assists.
Arsene Wenger will be looking to his key men to make the difference again at Wembley Stadium, with Mesut Ozil another of those now focused fully on his football after penning a new contract.
He will have Jack Wilshere in support as the Gunners seek to win the midfield battle, but they will take on that challenge without the services of Aaron Ramsey.
Wenger told BT Sport on the Wales international’s absence: "Ramsey's injured and couldn't participate. We are an attacking team and I've put one more defensive midfielder in."
Mohamed Elney and Granit Xhaka will fill holding roles, with it up to them to help contain the considerable attacking threat posed by Spurs.
Harry Kane – the Premier League’s 22-goal top scorer – will once again present the biggest test to the Arsenal defensive line.
He does, however, have able support from Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele and Heung-min Son, with there the promise of plenty of goals in another eagerly-anticipated clash between two old adversaries.
