Arsenal kept up their good form with a fifth-straight victory, beating Leicester City by a scoreline of 2-0 in an impressive performance. Another win signified another three points on the board, and the North London club is that much closer to fourth place and UEFA Champions League qualification.
Unbeaten in six games, Mikel Arteta's men look to be growing in confidence at an important time in the season.
With only the Premier League to focus on after getting knocked out of both domestic cups in English football, his players have the chance to gain plenty of respite between games and will hope to avoid a chaotic injury schedule towards the end of their campaign.
Sporting News rounds up the latest on the injury front at the Emirates Stadium below.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
- Injury: Calves
- Out since: Jan. 20
Arsenal manager Arteta divulged in his pre-match press conference ahead of the March 16 Liverpool match that Japanese full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu was their only major injury concern, as a result of an injury to both his calves
The Arsenal manager provided an update on Tomiyasu's fitness before Arsenal hosts Liverpool. "Tomi is the only one that's still there in contention [to miss the game] "We have been trying to push him, but with the handbrake a little bit because we need to be careful as we don’t want to get another injury with him.
"We don’t know [whether he will be available for selection]. Let’s see how he trains today".
It turns out he was not part of the matchday squad against Liverpool and it's no surprise. The 22-year-old has suffered from multiple injury complications in recent times, giving his manager more than some more food for thought ahead of their crunch match against Liverpool. Arsenal are not rushing their man back into the team despite his return to training.
Arteta said Tomiyasu was back in training today.#AFChttps://t.co/yQe8n6Duw4

Emile Smith Rowe
- Injury: Illness
- Out since: N/A
Emile Smith Rowe missed the Feb. 24 game against Wolves with illness. It was later confirmed that he had COVID-19, which caused him to miss the March 6 win at Watford as well.
Since then, he has made his full return from illness, featuring for the last 12 minutes as a substitute against the Foxes on March 13. He was fit enough to earn a spot on the bench against Jurgen Klopp's men on March 16.
Arsenal had no other new injury worries ahead of the Liverpool clash.
