Argentina's national soccer team are world champions and going for back-to-back Copa America triumphs after beating Canada 2-0 in Tuesday's semifinal at MetLife Stadium.
Such a run of success requires a team boasting the talents of Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez to be clinical on the field.
That edge seemingly extends to Argentina’s social media operation, too, following a brutal takedown of Drake after Messi and Alvarez struck to end CanMNT's impressive tournament run.
As he is wont to do, the superstar rapper placed a hefty bet on his countrymen to shock La Albiceleste in New Jersey, reportedly laying down $300,000 Canadian that would have paid out in the region of a cool $3 million had it come in.

It's a loss that the multimillionaire can easily stomach. Whether he can do likewise when Argentina's English-language X/Twitter account brings up his public feud with Kendrick Lamar is a different matter.
An image of Argentina celebrating against Canada was overlaid with the caption "Not Like Us" — the title of the brutal diss track Kendrick released about Drake that has been streamed more than 500 million times on Spotify.
Perhaps the lesson is that, after taking Ls at the hands of the 5ft 5 ins Lamar and Messi, Drake should stay away from diminutive geniuses.
While we’re on the subject, we could make an unoriginal point and suggest he stays away from sports betting altogether.

What is the 'Drake Curse'?
Drake has bet on several sporting events over the years and wears the jerseys of various teams and franchises. When he attempts to be a part of the action, the team or person he sides with often loses.
Canada were the underdogs against Argentina, so we can't really lay their defeat at Drake's door. However, there are plenty of times when he's run with the favourite and suffered a loss.
Sharing his bets on social media has often resulted in groans or opportunities for trolling. Some of the effects of the 'Drake Curse' include:
- August-September 2015: The 'Drake Curse' begins after the rapper is seen kissing tennis superstar Serena Williams. He attends the U.S. Open to witness her quest for the Grand Slam, but Williams loses in the semi-final.
- October 2018: UFC star Connor McGregor brings Drake out before his match with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Nurmagomedov goes on to destroy McGregor in a one-sided beatdown.
- April 2019: Drake dons a Maples Leafs jersey in the playoffs, and Toronto promptly loses to the Bruins in seven games.
- June 2019: Drake bets for Anthony Joshua to beat Andy Ruiz Jr., a replacement opponent for Jarrell Miller. Ruiz beats Joshua in one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history.
- August 2022: Drake bets $200,000 on Kamaru Usman to beat Leon Edwards at UFC 278 for the UFC welterweight title. Edwards beats Usman following a dramatic comeback kick to the head.
- February 2023: Drake bets $400,000 on Jake Paul to KO Tommy Fury, who wins via split decision.
- April 2023: Drake puts down a $1 million Bitcoin stake on Gervonta Davis winning outright against Ryan Garcia. "Tank" beat Garcia via seventh-round knockout.
