Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande reached the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League this week after a 3-1 win at home over Japan's Cerezo Osaka.

Leading the team to that important victory was their Brazilian striker Alan who dazzled on the night with two goals in a must-win match.

The former Red Bull Salzburg forward netted his double in the second half, after Huang Bowen and Takaki Fukumitsu had scored for either side in the opening 10 minutes of the tie at Tianhe Stadium in China.

Alan's two goals came from a total tally of five shots on goal, three of which were on target. He also won four fouls, made 19 passes and registered one chance created.

He was simply sensational on the night for Guangzhou Evergrande and is aptly named this week's Toyota Asian Player of the Week!
