Bani Yas presented their newly appointed coach, Abdul Wahab Abdul Qader in a press conference on Monday in the presence of a number of club officials.
The Emirati club’s former coach Jose Gomes was sacked after failing to improve on the club’s position in the league standings, and the club elected to bring back Abdul Qader for another spell with Bani Yas after having led the team for 7 years, the highlight of which was winning UAE’s President Cup 1992.
Bani Yas’ board of directors stated: “Our choice came in light of the extensive experience that Abdul Qader has in Emirati football, and especially with Bani Yas.”
“The coming period is very important, and we need everyone to come together and stand united to stay in the Arabian Gulf League.”
The newly appointed Abdul Qader expressed his delight with his return to Bani Yas, a club he considers as family: “I hope that we will sail to safety with Bani Yas, and I believe that we have the players and the administration to achieve our goals.”
