USA vs. Netherlands odds and pick – Expect goals in international friendly image

Netherlands will be hoping to secure a morale-boosting win when they take on USA in an international friendly in Amsterdam on Friday (2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2).

A 1-1 home draw with Turkey in their latest Euro 2016 qualification fixture means that the World Cup 2014 semifinalists have garnered just seven points from their opening five fixtures in Group A.

Guus Hiddink's side is five points adrift of Iceland in the race to reach next summer's tournament in France, but the Dutch defeated Spain in an international friendly back in March.  They’ll be determined to build on that result when they take on Jurgen Klinsmann's side.

Netherlands are sold favorites to win on Friday, with the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook offering just -200 for a home win, while the visitors can be backed at +625 odds to emerge victorious.

The draw is often a popular play in international friendlies, and bettors may be tempted by the Westgate’s 3-to-1 odds for Friday's clash to end in stalemate.

On a spread bet, gamblers can lay a goal with the Netherlands for -120 or back USA +1 goal at even-money.

Team USA reached the last 16 of World Cup 2014, but have failed to win any of their last four fixtures away from home, and Klinsmann's men can expect a tough test in Amsterdam.

Netherlands have lost just one of their last 17 matches on home soil and are decent value at +105 offshore to lead at halftime on Friday.

Better value, though, may be found in backing the total goals market when these two sides go head-to-head.

The Dutch have scored in 13 of their last 14 home matches, while USA has found the net in all but one of their last 18 fixtures.

Therefore, it is the chunky -105 odds offered up by the Vegas SuperBook for this contest to produce OVER 2.5 goals that is the recommended play for gamblers here.

Goal.com best bet: OVER 2.5 goals at -105
