NCAA Tournament prop bets — Conference win totals, team matchups and more image

The NCAA Tournament is ripe with prop betting opportunities both on a game-by-game basis and before the action begins. These are the latter.

William Hill has released a handful of March Madness props that will need to be placed before the tournament, including total wins by each conference, two-team matchups on who will advance further and more. Here are some of our favorites.

Our picks

Note: We'll update as props are released and we uncover more we like.

AAC over 1.5 wins (-150)

The AAC has four teams in — Cincinnati (vs. St. Joe's), UConn (vs. Colorado), Temple (vs. Iowa) and Tulsa (play-in vs. Michigan, then Notre Dame with a win). Both Cincy and UConn are favored by three or fewer, while Temple is a 7.5-point underdog against slipping Iowa and Tulsa is a 4-point dog in Wednesday's game. The Bearcats and Huskies would both face No. 1 seeds in the second round (Oregon and Kansas), but we like the way Cincy would matchup with Oregon if that game happens.

With four teams, two favored, and Tulsa potentially getting an "extra" game if it wins Wednesday, we'll take the OVER.

Will a 15 seed win a game? No (-345)

Just seven 15 seeds have won (5.85 percent), and this line implies that there's about a 25 percent chance it happens this season. As much as we like Cal Bakersfield to keep it close against Oklahoma, there's some value in laying the price here. Each No. 2 seed is a favorite of at least 13.5 points.

Total games won by UNC under 3.5

For this to hit, Carolina has to make the Final Four, and that seems like a tough thing to bet on. The Heels should win their first two games, but will then be only a short favorite over (most likely) Kentucky or Indiana in the Sweet 16. UNC has a tough road to Houston.
