AccuScore’s predictions are based on 10,000-plus simulations performed by the company’s computer.  Throughout the baseball season, AccuScore will be stacking up its projections against Las Vegas odds and recommending wagers when value presents itself.

Seattle Mariners -108 (@ Texas Rangers)
Ross Detwiler vs J.A. Happ

The Rangers have been disappointing so far in the season, especially at home. The Mariners were a bit lucky last night with 3-1 win against a wasteful Rangers team and have the upper hand heading into tonight's matchup.

Happ on the mound provides an edge in the pitching game, with a 62 percent chance of quality start vs. Detwiler’s 34 percent. AccuScore simulations give the Mariners a 64 percent chance of winning, which represents -150 in odds. At -108, there is great value with the favorite.

The Mariners are 3-1 vs the Rangers, and the Rangers are 0-3 when Detweiler starts.

Boston Red Sox -121 (vs Toronto Blue Jays)
Clay Buchholz vs Drew Hutchison

The Red Sox have had a ton of problems with their bullpen and pitching overall. Despite the below-par performances, they have been able to turn the games in their favor – just like last night against the Blue Jays.

There’s light at the end of the tunnel, and Buchholz should do well against the Jays. The -121 odds present a slight value with the better team, as AccuScore simulations give Red Sox a 59 percent chance of winning, or odds of -144.

The Red Sox are 5-3 at home, and the Blue Jays are 4-10 vs. opponents with a winning record

Chicago Cubs -117 (vs Pittsburgh Pirates)
Travis Wood vs Jeff Locke

The Cubs have a knack for letting us down as favorites, but this time the odds present such value they can’t be overlooked. AccuScore simulations have the Cubs as 60 percent favorites to win, indicating odds of -150.

With -117, there’s serious value for a team that had the killer instinct last night with a 4-0 victory and the upper-hand on both sides of the ball.

Both pitchers are expected to do well, but Wood is given a slight edge in a good matchup against the Bucs’ batters.

EXTRA: For those of us who are always on the lookout of profitable underdog selections, we have the Rays visiting Yankee Stadium. AccuScore predictions put the visitors winning at 56.7 percent, or -130 odds. The odds at -102 present good value, but be warned – the Yankees have proved us wrong in many cases early in the season.
