It's highly unlikely Jonathan Martin suits up in Dolphins teal and orange this fall.

The Miami Dolphins front office would most likely prefer if other teams didn't know that, though.

Dolphins Vice President of Football Operations Dawn Aponte, new General Manager Dennis Hickey and coach Joe Philbin met with Martin's agents at the combine and expressed interest in keeping the tackle on the roster, according to CBS Sports. Martin is under contract with the team and would need to be waived or traded to join a new one, which is what Martin and his agents want.

Though Richie Incognito, the main culprit in the Wells Report, is gone, Martin's agents reportedly feel it's best for Martin to get an entirely new start in a new locker room. Owner Stephen Ross has made a previous statement publicly agreeing, saying he doesn't expect either player to be with the team come the 2014 season.

But if the Dolphins are desperately looking to shop Martin, who has played in 23 games over a two-year career, and every other team knows that, the value drops dramatically. Why pay top dollar when one clearly doesn't have to?

Hence the possibility Miami is trying to lay out a new hand.

The meeting consisted mostly of Hickey doing the talking, while Philbin was "starring daggers" across the room. According to CBS Sports, "sources said Philbin expressed his belief that Martin's agents were responsible for Miami's locker room controversy reaching this point, that they were the real problem and alluding that Martin's concerns could have been kept more private and handled differently."

The accounts from the Dolphins side say Philbin was in "listening mode" and that the meeting was only a first step. No decision has been made yet.

Meanwhile, agent Rick Smith, from Martin's agency, questions the validity of the article, telling CBS Sports, "We have no idea where you got your information, but you weren't even close. We'd appreciate it if everyone backed off and allowed the process to happen organically."
