Indonesia U-23 midfielder Evan Dimas Darmono has made 12 competitive appearances for Selangor this season, and scored one goal for them.

Now the 2017 Liga 1 winner has set his sights on a new playing field, according to the Indonesian edition of Goal.

"I dream of playing in Japan, but I want to play in Thailand first. I want to learn more about Thai football as Thailand are an exceptional side in Southeast Asia.

"If there is an offer from Thailand I will discuss the matter first, and if the offer is good why not? God willing, it happens (playing in Thailand next year)," said the 23-year old in the interview.

Interestingly, before he joined Selangor from Bhayangkara FC, Evan had been reported to have received an offer from Thai club Chonburi FC, an offer he declined.

But before he realises his Thailand dream, perhaps Evan needs to focus on his current task. Although the Red Giants have reached the FA Cup semi-finals, they are currently eighth in the Malaysia Super League, just three points above the relegation zone.

Earlier last week, Selangor head coach Nazliazmi Nazmi rated his performance up to that point as 'average', as well as that of his compatriot and Selangor teammate Ilham Udin Armaiyn's.
