Villarreal vs Real Madrid: TV channel, live stream, squad news & preview image

Real Madrid will end their 2017-18 La Liga campaign with a trip to Villarreal on Saturday.

The result means little to either side, with Real's eye firmly on the Champions League final on May 26 and Villarreal having already secured a place in next season's Europa League.

Both sides will fight to round the domestic campaign off with a victory, though, with there still being hope that Zinedine Zidane's side can snatch second place from Madrid rivals Atletico.

Karim Benzema Real Madrid Bayern Munich UEFA Champions League

Real Madrid can be forgiven for focusing their attention on the Champions League final.

Zidane and his side's success will be determined by the outcome of the Kiev showdown with Liverpool after Barcelona claimed the Liga title with relative ease this term.

Real are likely to end the season locked in third position, though if they pick up a victory here on Saturday and Atletico Madrid lose at home to Eibar on Sunday, then Los Blancos would usurp their rivals to finish as runners-up as a result of their superior goal difference.

Last season's champions have only won two of their last six league meetings against Villarreal, however, while the Estadio de la Ceramica side have won four of their last five at on home soil.

In fact, only title-winners Barcelona have beaten Javier Calleja's men since the early stages of April.

Gareth Bale, linked with a summer exit from the Spanish giants in the summer, has now scored in three consecutive league appearances for the first time since April 2016 and will continue in the Real attack this weekend.

Whether or not he is included in the XI to face Liverpool the following week may depend on his performance against the Yellow Submarine.
