It was nearly a foregone conclusion that Paris Saint-Germain would end the Cinderella run for third-tier Les Herbiers in the Coupe de France, and Unai Emery's side did exactly that with a comfortable 2-0 win in the final

The win finished off a domestic treble for Unai Emery's side this season, the Parisians having beaten Monaco to claim the Coupe de la Ligue title at the end of March, while they have run away with the Ligue 1 crown.

It's a continuation of domestic dominance for PSG, who have now captured the Coupe de France title four times in a row, a record run.

In fact, Monaco's Ligue 1 title last season is the only blemish on PSG's sterling domestic record in since the 2014-15 season, with the club having won other every league, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue title in that time span.

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani has played a major part in their run of dominance.

The 31-year-old netted from the spot on Tuesday and has now scored 11 goals in nine domestic cup finals, including three strikes in his four Coupe de France final appearances and eight in five Coupe de la Ligue finals.

Despite the domestic success, PSG are still famously searching for a European crown.

Emery's side came up well short in their chase for the Champions League title this season, having fallen to Real Madrid in the round of 16 – a result that played a large part in Emery's upcoming departure from the club at the end of this season.

The Paris outfit have just two matches left in their season, with Rennes on tap this Saturday as their final home match before an away-day finale against Caen on May 19.
