West Ham host Arsenal on Wednesday evening looking to build on their surprise 1-0 victory over London rivals Chelsea on Saturday.

David Moyes' side ended a six-game winless run in the top flight and are now only in the bottom three in the rankings based on goal difference.

Arsenal come into the game just one point outside the top four, though they dropped more points at the weekend in a 1-1 draw away at Southampton.

The tie at St Mary's followed a 3-1 home defeat against Manchester United and the Gunners will be under pressure to return to the capital with a win on Wednesday.

GAME PREVIEW

Arsene Wenger Arsenal

Their defeat to United last weekend ended a run of seven consecutive wins on home turf for Arsenal, and Wenger relied on a stoppage-time equaliser from Olivier Giroud to steal a point from Southampton in the following game.

The draw on the south coast highlighted the Gunners' patchy away form — Wenger's side have picked up just two wins from eight on the road, against Burnley and Everton.

Against no side have Arsenal won more away Premier League games than they have against West Ham, however, with their 12 victories the same number against both Everton and Aston Villa.

Wednesday's clash will be West Ham’s 100th home London derby in the Premier League — they’ve won 36 of their previous 99, drawn 22 and lost 41 — and Moyes will be hopeful of making the occasion with a win.
