Christian Eriksen suspected FC Twente had more desire than Manchester United after the Eredivisie side claimed a 1-1 UEFA Europa League draw at Old Trafford.
Eriksen gave United a first-half lead during their opening league phase match and the Red Devils were in control for long periods, albeit while struggling to create many clear-cut chances.
However, amid a surging Twente counter-attack midway through the second half, Eriksen was caught on the ball by Sam Lammers, who darted into the area to lash beyond Andre Onana.
"I think mostly we're disappointed as a team, we wanted more," the experienced midfielders told TNT Sport. "In the end [we were] far from good enough. They looked like they wanted it more - that can't be right."
"I think everyone is looking at themselves, everyone is a professional footballer, they know what to do, what can't happen. We don't lose but it feels like a loss."

United boss Erik ten Hag refused to blame Eriksen and attributed the Lammers' goal to collective failings.
"We kept them alive, 1-0 up, controlling the game you have to be consistent and keep going. In the second half we dropped the level, gave the goal away," he said.
"We didn't finish it off, we had to go for the second goal and so they stay alive and we get punished with a mistake from ourselves."
He added: "The goal, it’s team [issue]. A player of Twente can dribble through the pitch without stopping. We can't give a goal away like this.
"We have seen again you have to keep going for the whole game, once 1-0 up you have to keep going, go for the second."
