Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has raised eyebrows by suggesting that Trent Alexander-Arnold could be on his way to Real Madrid.
With the England star's recent substitutions at Liverpool, Souness believes the Reds may already know about a potential move.
Alexander-Arnold, a Liverpool academy graduate, has made over 300 appearances for the club, but his contract is set to expire in 2025.
Souness hinted that the full-back's recent substitutions, including being benched against Manchester United, might be a sign of an impending transfer.

Trent Substitutions fuel transfer speculation
Speaking on the Three Up Front podcast, Souness said, “Trent Alexander-Arnold is tailor-made for Real Madrid with the way he plays. He’s got an unbelievable delivery, and he’s good friends with Jude Bellingham. The message that he’s leaving may have already been relayed to Liverpool.”
The Liverpool legend also pointed out that if Alexander-Arnold does leave, there aren't many clubs better than Madrid for him to go to.
Souness didn’t stop at Alexander-Arnold. He also mentioned that Virgil van Dijk, who is also nearing the end of his contract, could be a good fit for the Spanish giants. He praised Van Dijk’s athleticism and leadership, comparing him favourably to Real Madrid’s current defenders.
Liverpool fans will be hoping that these speculations don’t come true, but with Alexander-Arnold’s future uncertain, Souness' comments have certainly added fuel to the fire.
