Tottenham earned a credible 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek, and return to Premier League action with another stern test, this time against Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's men won 7-0 against Maribor in a record-breaking performance on the same night as Spurs held on in the Bernabeu, and are looking for points in the top-flight.

While Spurs are well amongst the runners and riders - they sit third - Liverpool are eighth, nine points behind leaders Manchester City.

GAME PREVIEW

Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Real Madrid v Tottenham, Champions League 2017/18

Spurs have a woeful record against Liverpool, and are winless in their last nine games against the Reds.

However, their recent form is something to build on - they are now 10 games unbeaten in all competitions, and will hope to keep the pressure on the two Manchester clubs at the top of the table with a victory over Jurgen Klopp's men, whose own form has been somewhat patchy.

Liverpool thumped Maribor in midweek but before that had been forced to endure a run of three consecutive draws, against Spartak Moscow, Newcastle and Manchester United.

In the league this season, the Reds have won just three times, but they have a platform from which to take off following their record-breaking victory in Europe.

With two high-pressing teams going at it, this one is a truly mouthwatering Premier League clash.
