Marc Cucurella went viral after he won the 2024 European Championship with Spain, not for his performance but for a song he chanted during their celebrations.
It was intended to be a playful chant about Erling Haaland but that came back to haunt him when Manchester City took on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Cucurella had confidently took the microphone during the victory parade and sung: "Haaland, you'd better tremble, because Cucurella is coming."
However, just 20 minutes into the new Premier League campaign and it was Cucurella who was trembling when Haaland shoved the Spaniard to one side before lofting the ball into the back of the net to open his Premier League account for the season.

Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2022 and has faced some criticism during his time at Stamford Bridge.
His light-hearted mockery of Haaland during Spain’s Euro 2024 celebrations turned ironic as the Norwegian striker proved his dominance.
Haaland’s goal was his 91st in 100 appearances for Man City.
