Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are in talks over the transfer of Brazilian right-back Yan Couto.
The 22-year-old, who is yet to make his debut for City, could be on his way to Germany in a deal worth around £25 million ($32.2 million). Couto has been playing on loan at Girona for the past two seasons, where he has impressed in La Liga.
Despite never playing a match for Manchester City, Couto caught the attention of Dortmund after a strong season with Girona. The right-back made 34 appearances, providing eight assists and helping the team secure a spot in the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Dortmund in talks for Yan Couto
According to Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund has made contact with Manchester City to discuss the terms of the deal for Couto. However, the German club is not keen on paying the full £40 million ($51.5 million) release clause and is looking to negotiate the price down to around £20 million ($25.8 million).
Couto's potential move to Dortmund is part of a broader transfer strategy by the club, which reached the Champions League final last season. The young Brazilian had also been called up to Brazil’s Copa America squad, further boosting his reputation as a rising star.
Major clearout at Manchester City?
Manchester City, fresh off winning their fourth consecutive Premier League title, seems to be in the midst of a squad shake-up. Besides Couto, there are rumors of other key players leaving the club.
Goalkeeper Ederson has been linked with a move to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, and the club has already turned down a £25 million ($32.2 million) offer from Al Nassr for the Brazilian shot-stopper.
Additionally, City’s vice-captain Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly on the radar of Al-Ittihad. De Bruyne, who has been with City since 2015, played a significant role for Belgium at the Euros. With only one year left on his contract, the Belgian star might be considering a move after a successful nine-year tenure at City.
