Man City team news: De Bruyne & Sterling left out as Toure captains City on farewell appearance image

Yaya Toure will captain Manchester City in his farewell appearance for the club against Brighton on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old will depart City at the end of the season after a hugely successful eight-year stay at the Etihad Stadium.

The Premier League champions are preparing a send-off ceremony for Toure in their final home game of the season, with the Ivorian helping City to three Premier League titles during his time with the club.

He is part of a City line-up that includes several changes, with Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson on the bench and David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Fabian Delph and John Stones out of the squad entirely.

A win for City would give them the record for most points in a Premier League season, while two goals would see Pep Guardiola's men set a record for most goals in a Premier League campaign.

Man City XI: Bravo, Danilo, Kompany, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Toure, Gundogan, Sane, Bernardo, Jesus

Subs: Ederson, Foden, Diaz, Nmecha, De Bruyne, Mendy, Adarabioyo

Brighton XI: Ryan, Bruno, Dunk, Duffy, Bong, Knockaert, Stephens, Propper, Izquierdo, Gross, Ulloa

Subs: Krul, Goldson, Schelotto, Kayal, March, Locadia, Murray
