Premier League champions Manchester City are prepared to double Rodri's wages to keep him at the club.
City are aware of growing transfer interest from Real Madrid as part of a potential transfer bid to lure him back to the Spanish capital in future.
The 28-year-old has developed into arguably the best defensive midfielder in world soccer since making the move from Atletico Madrid in 2019.

Pep Guardiola has built his team around Rodri in recent seasons as an indispensable part of City's trophy winning machine.
The Spanish international has been a vocal advocate for reducing game overload on elite players, with 65 matches played for club and country last season, and Guardiola has omitted him from City's Premier League season opener against Chelsea.
However, his importance to City remains undimmed, and as per reports from the Daily Mirror, the defending EPL champions are prepared to double his wages to around £375,000-a-week ($485,000) as part of incoming negotiations.
His current contract in Manchester runs until 2027, but City are keen to tie him down, regardless of Guardiola's own extension plans beyond this season.
The pay offer will increase City's salary bill significantly and bring Rodri in line with their top earners Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne if he accepts the offer.
