In what could be a game-changer for the 2025 season, FIFA has dropped a bombshell that might just make Manchester City and Chelsea fans rub their hands in excitement.
The football body is proposing a special two-week transfer window in June, exclusively for the teams competing in the 2025 Club World Cup.
This means Premier League giants like Man City and Chelsea could start signing players two weeks earlier than the rest.
That's right — while other teams are still figuring out their summer plans, City and Chelsea could be snapping up fresh talent by June 1.

What FIFA suggest for Club World Cup teams
Under this new rule, FIFA would allow the English FA to give their Club World Cup teams an early registration window from June 1 to June 10. If the FA takes this option, it would give a massive boost to City and Chelsea as they could sign new players just days before the big competition kicks off.
Imagine Pep Guardiola and his team getting their hands on a top talent before the tournament starts. That’s the kind of advantage this new rule could bring. Chelsea fans would also hope for a transfer boost to help them compete with the best.

What’s even more exciting is that this window could allow these teams to sign players whose contracts expire in 2025. Think of the likes of Liverpool stars like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, or Virgil van Dijk. That would definitely spice things up!
FIFA President Gianni Infantino made it clear: "These regulations will ensure that the best conditions are in place for all 32 participating clubs."
The 2025 edition of the tournament is set for the USA, and it looks like City and Chelsea are already in pole position before the competition even begins!
