Sepp van den Berg is on the verge of leaving Liverpool, with interest from Brentford and Bayer Leverkusen heating up.
The Dutch defender looks set to make a move after Liverpool's quiet summer in the transfer market.
Liverpool's summer transfer window has been largely uneventful, with no new arrivals and only a few key departures.
One of these departures was Fabio Carvalho, who joined Brentford for £27.5m ($35.8m). Now, reports suggest Carvalho might soon be joined by former Liverpool teammate Sepp van den Berg.

Brentford vs. Bayer Leverkusen: The battle for Van den Berg
According to The Athletic, Brentford are strongly considering van den Berg as they seek defensive upgrades. The Times later revealed that Brentford hopes to outpace Leverkusen, the current Bundesliga champions, for his signature.
Brentford's defensive struggles last season, where they conceded 19 more goals than the previous year and dropped from ninth to 16th, make van den Berg a key target. They are also linked with Burnley's Dara O'Shea.
Leverkusen, fresh off their Bundesliga title win and preparing for the UEFA Champions League, are also keen on van den Berg to bolster their squad.

Liverpool are reportedly seeking at least £20m ($26m) for the 22-year-old, who they initially signed for just £1.3m ($1.7m) in 2019. Despite his potential, van den Berg has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Liverpool, featuring only in cup matches. Earlier this summer, he criticized the club for setting a high asking price and hindering his future prospects.
Van den Berg spent last season on loan at Mainz and is eager for regular first-team football to continue his development. With interest from both Brentford and Leverkusen, his departure from Liverpool seems imminent.
