Southampton and Leicester City are among a raft of Premier League clubs weighing up a move for Liverpool starlet Ben Doak this summer, according to The Athletic.
Doak is undoubtedly one of the most promising talents emerging from Liverpool's youth ranks. Acquired two years ago from Celtic, the winger has made impressive strides at Anfield. He made his debut at just 16 years old during a Carabao Cup match against Derby County and signed a professional contract on his birthday just five days later.
Last season, Doak featured in five first-team games as a deputy for the injured Mohamed Salah before a knee injury in December unfortunately sidelined him for the rest of the campaign. Although he was named in Scotland's Euro 2024 squad, he faced another setback and was unable to participate in the tournament.
The 18-year-old is currently on the Reds pre-season tour of the United States and caught the attention off the bench in their 1-0 friendly victory over Real Betis.
It is suggested Arne Slot's side could look to send Doak out on loan for regular minutes after an injury-riddled first season at senior level, and that Premier League clubs are competing for his signature. Newly-promoted pair Southampton and Leicester City are both said to be keen.

Doak is a very exciting talent with a stocky build and a fearless style of play, drawing comparisons to Wayne Rooney. He possesses the ability to cut inside or race down the flank, showcasing blistering speed that could make him a standout temporary addition for Southampton this summer.
At just 18 years old, the Scottish winger is still developing, and his end product requires some working. As a result, Russell Martin may not view him as a regular starter in every match. However, given his age and potential, he could serve as a valuable squad player for the year, impacting games as a substitute with his directness and skilful play.
