Former West Ham United striker Steve Jones has revealed that he is satisfied with the performance of Andre Ayew in recent games.
The 27-year-old joined the Hammers in a record £20 million deal from Swansea City last season but had a poor start after picking up an injury on his debut against Chelsea, spending almost two months on the sidelines.
Although, he later recovered and featured 25 times as well as scoring nine goals, he was criticised for ‘lack of commitment’.
He subsequently lost his starting place in Slaven Bilic's squad but has been in top form of late, netting three times in his last two games.
“It is good to see Andre Ayew finding form in front of goal,” Jones told Echo.
“I have questioned his £20 million price tag – which was the fee he joined West Ham United for from Swansea City last year – but he is scoring goals.
“He scored two goals in the Carabao Cup against Tottenham Hotspur and then followed that up with a lovely goal at Crystal Palace [so I'm getting satisfied a bit],”he added
Ayew, who is in line to possibly win the club's Player of the Month of October, has played nine league games this season, scoring two goals in the process.
