'I will tell them' - Liverpool's Lovren to feature in Bosnian War documentary image

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren will feature in a documentary focusing on his early life as a refugee fleeing the Bosnian War.

The Croatia international was born in the former Yugoslavia Republic, but he and his family were forced to flee from the country following the outbreak of war when he was just three years of age.

The bloody conflict lasted for almost four years from 1992 to 1995 as escalating violence claimed the lives of 104,732 people, including 36,700 civilians.

Now 27, Lovren looks back on childhood experience in a LFCTV documentary titled 'Lovren: My Life as a Refugee' that he been described as "frank and emotional."

"When I see what's happening today I just remember my (experiences.)" Lovren says in a trailer for the film.

"I grew up in a town called Kraljeva Sutjeska. It was a real - I would say - family town. We had everything to be honest, everything.

"And then, it happened...

"People still avoid talking about it. My mum said to me: 'Don't tell them' but I said: 'I will tell them.'"
