Manchester City will be hoping for revenge on Saturday over arch-rivals Manchester United as the two face off at Wembley in the Community Shield.

Pep Guardiola's men are well aware that this trophy isn't always a predictor of how the Premier League season will unfold—a lesson Arsenal learned the hard way in last year's match.

Nevertheless, it is a trophy at the end of the day and it's a way to start the 2024/25 campaign on the front foot.

Here's how City line up.

The Manchester derby is one of the longest-running battles in English football with their first meeting dating back to 1881, three years after United were formed, and just over 12 months after City's creation.

Across all competitions, since 1881, the two sides have met a total of 190 times, with 78 wins for United60 for City, and 53 draws.
