Mikel Arteta's Arsenal head into another Premier League season where they feel Manchester City are the only team to beat as they look to get one over Pep Guardiola's side.

The Gunners fell short for a second straight season in 2023/24 but pushed them to the final day of the campaign, however, they had no silverware to show for their efforts.

The North London side have made some key signings such as ensuring David Raya's buyout clause was activated as well as bolstering the defence with Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.

Here's how Arsenal may line up on the opening weekend of the season.

Arteta's squad will be missing defenders Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu, sidelined by hamstring and knee injuries, respectively.

Additionally, Jurrien Timber's availability remains in doubt as he recovers from a foot injury so Oleksandr Zinchenko could start.

William Saliba and Gabriel at the back could be the way Arteta looks to set up his defence as Calafiori adapts to life in England and therefore could start on the bench.

Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice returned from their break following England's late Euro 2024 run and are set to start with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli also leading the attack.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) — White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko — Odegaard, Partey, Rice — Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.

Injured: Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu

Suspended: None
